Yoga
is one such ancient discipline that effectively connects the body and
mind. As part of its outreach programme, Studio Abhyas offers yoga specially
designed for people with special needs, students, teachers and professionals
keeping in mind their bodies and the stress and distractions of modern
life. A practice of viniyasa or asana series are put together to limber
and strengthen the body; build stamina and endurance; develop focus,
plus channel the energies. In addition, the participants learn invaluable
skills and coping mechanism that set the groundwork for meeting challenges
and growing strong physically, mentally and emotionally for a lifetime
of successful achievement.

Yoga Session with AIESEC participants
As part of Studio Abhyas outreach programme, Monica Chand
and Mona Mehta introduced yoga and meditation to a batch
of 12 participants of AIESEC, an international youth organization,
who were visiting India on a cultural exchange programme.
The one-and half-hour session was conducted at a farm house
in Vasant Kunj,
New Delhi.

yoga introduction workshop for a group of 10 American students
who were visiting India on an exchange program from various
universities in the United States.

Yoga-Dance (Chhau) performance for the Golden Jubilee
Celebrations, Bluebells School International, New Delhi
The Abhyas Trust was invited by the Bluebells School International
to design a yoga-dance invocation for the commencement
of their Golden Jubilee Celebrations . Anil Panchal (Chhau
& contemporary dancer) and Monica Chand (yoga faculty)
conducted the workshop with a group of 23 students from
the senior school which culminated in a performance on
Feb 10, 2007.

Yoga-dance Invocation for Annual Day Celebrations of Bluebells
School International, New Delhi
Abhyas Trust was invited to design and choreograph a yoga
based dance sequence for their Annual Day Celebrations at
Siri Fort on September 28, 2006. A group of 20 students
from the Senior school were trained by Navtej Johar and
Monica Chand for the performance.
